He was convinced John Walsh would go in the first round of the NFL draft which likely led Walsh to leave a year early for the NFL. That led to BYU recruiting Steve Sarkisian. 🙂

IIRC, John Walsh was friends with Steve Sarkisian and helped recruit him to take his place. That is just my vague memory
