Ty threw 4 INTs vs Wyoming in his first game because the O line could
not block anything. Covey and Detmer both had no time. Sacks and pressures all over the place.
Yet, based upon that first game, one QB was a gamer who showed greatness and the other was blah.
Covey was not anything but an average QB at best. Detmer played every game that season but one and the offense was better with him. The coaches likely should have moved on from Covey by the 3rd or 4th game, given that they were bringing in Detmer every game to salvage things, concussions or not.
