I think that's mostly about managing expectations. He seems to really dislike
having expectations rise after having initial success.
Bronco is very good, but he is only willing to take a team so far. When the team plateaus and the inevitable frustration sets in with fans who want the team to get to the next level, Bronco sees the fans as spoiled and he feels unappreciated. At that point, he'd rather ride off into the sunset.
