When horses sweat, their body temperature can get all out of whack.

Blankets are an effective way of managing their temperature. If you’ve ever heard the expression, “Rode hard, and put away wet”, they were originally referring to horses. Horses need to be cooled down and dried off after high exertion, or they could literally die.
