Freshman year is better than you might remember.
He had one of the most electric debuts in BYU history IMO. Here's his first 7 games
vs Washington 95 rec/rush yards, 2 TDs
vs CSU 103 rec/rush yards, 3 TDs
vs Virginia 90 rec/rush yards, 2 TDs
vs Cal 118 rec/rush yards, 1 TD
vs New Mexico 153 rec/rush yards, 1 TD
vs UNLV 67 rec/rush yards, 1 TD
vs Air Force 154 rec/rush yards, 2 TDs
Then of course things got sad with the injuries. Despite the injuries he finished the season with the 2nd most rec/rush yards on the team behind Margin Hooks.
With the exception of the UNLV game, ever other game was a huge performances and they came against 3 P5s and a couple of MWC teams that were often thorns in our side.

Tyler Algeier may be the best of the bunch of them- Faster than Jamaal and Harvey, as powerful as any, and durable.

Yes, saw him in person many times. I remember his run against Tulane when he split the two dbs like they were BYU dads.
