3 words. 401K. I think most people that make a reasonable effort will get more
than my $1K monthly total pensions from their 401K. In fact, I do.
It takes discipline. It takes time. Start early. Don’t skip a beat. Carve out 20-25% of your pay into 401K, pay tithing, and then you will know how much money you can afford to spend.
Do not borrow except for an affordable home even if it means driving a junky car while saving for a better one.
You are right. Current and future generations will not get there because they lack patience and discipline.
I followed the above instruction. I have only bought one new car in my entire life. It was from a Jeep Dealer going bankrupt. Thus - a bargain. I have never joined a fitness club that cost more than $10 monthly and only about a year if that. Never owned a Pelaton or anything resembling one. No Yetti. Eat most meals at home. No cosmetic surgery ir anything resembling that. Single income. 5 kids. Worked during high school and college. Multiple jobs. No extravagant trips. Etc. Side investments. Etc.
