He was justified in thinking the kid ran after him
Hard to tell whether it was on purpose or not, but if #3 had just run straight up the court instead of at Atiki/into his path, Atiki wouldn't have gone after him.
Not excusing it - even if the kid ran into him on purpose, he should have just ignored it.

It all looks pretty natural to me. I don't even think Atiki was going for the head, just happened to be taller.
