Absolutely the aditional recoil is a problem...

The FBI recommends the 40 cal to it's agents for just that reason - they can carry what they want, but it's the recommended gun. More stopping power than the 9mm. much more accurate second shot than the 45. Overall, the 40 is a more deadly weapon for that reason...
