but I am a 1911 guy. It really depends on what you want and what you want to spend. I like the Baretta Cougar in .45. I would love to have a 96FS though, I will someday, just not right now. Sig is Good, if you want full size go with a P229. Not a big fan of HK pistols, they are bulky. I had a SW99 in .40 for carry and defense. Right now I have a Sig p239 in .40 and 357 Sig (barrels for both rounds, same frame). Springfield makes a great 1911 too, and then there is always Colt. A Baby Eagle by IMI is a good .45 for home, not so good for Concealed Carry. Glock is great too!!!!!! It all depends on how much you want to spend, if you are in Utah Valley go to VanWagonen's or Gunnies and pick something up used and save a bit. I will even go with you if you boardmail me before.
