Cool, though it sounds like a lot of extra plumbing.

Anyone have or put in a master bath where the tub & shower are combined in one "wet room" like this?

We’re considering doing the same thing. We have a giant jetted tub now and a tiny shower and I hate it.

Wow. This is the first indication you are dissatisfied in your mansion

Refer to our current tub as "the font" because it's so big yet shower is a phone booth.

We are just starting ours. Rip out the jetted tub, enlarge shower. Haven't decided if we enclose it all in one or not.

I want to. The only problem is it’s a corner of the house with two fairly large windows. What do you do with windows

I lived in a house at BYU that had a shower window. Started 4-5 feet or so up,

We ripped out the giant stupid tub last Jan and did a bigger shower. Worth it.

Cleaning the tile around that tub would suck.

We would use larger tile (12x24 at least) & maybe a drop in tub w/ platform (easier for short old people to get in).

Probably closer to this in size & style (but not exact). (Edit) Oops. Added photo

Please use a bottle of Dawn when you do this and post the video afterward. I'll promise a POTD for that post.

Or put Dawn in your dishwasher and tell us how that goes.

One of my kids has already tried that. It was an exciting evening in our house. No video though, sadly.

The bigger tiles won't work for the floor but if you did build up a platform for the tub & not a free standing tub the

Yes, just on walls & tub surround — thinking penny tile for the floor. Will consider the steam rm idea. Sounds cool.

Absolutely do the steam. If you’re going to remodel to this level anyway, it

Assuming you are draining to one side? Larger tile make center drains hard.

My first thought. That tub would always be water marked and dirty around it.

Without a wall between the shower & tub, both areas can share floor space and be bigger than it they are separate.

Going to probably do this in a 6x8 space. But don’t think I want to enclose it,
SpecialKC

Wondering about that too. Must be a calculator to decide if there's space to skip the glass & still not

go with a steam shower if you can fit it in your budget... in Utah your pic probably works, but in more humid places
