Yes. Someone needs to repair cars, build houses, mow lawns, pick fruit,
Replace garbage disposals, etc. These things all pay differently and require different skills, but this is all work that needs to be done. Some of us do these things for ourselves, but most people cannot.

I have two parents. Neither went to college. When Dad passed away, he left about $250K to each of his kids and a ton to our step mother. She did not go to college and neither did her 1st husband. He died a multi-millionaire, but miserable. She is a multi-millionaire.

Only 1 of my siblings - half brother - went to college. His mother was a school teacher from a family with tons of ag land. His little brother did not go to college. They are all millionaires and not due to college.

My other 4 siblings, raised like me, by a divorced single parent Mom, worked hard for everything we have. My college education paved the way for me to make a ton of money, but like my father and grandfather, I could have made money as an entrepreneur.

Dad was married 4 times and still managed to accumulate wealth.

As someone recently said, it is not how much you earn, but how much you save. And borrowing gets very much in the way of that program.
