Let's break it down
Quarterback - We've played 5 QBs this far. 3 of the 5 didn't have any other offers. The most highly recruited is a wildcat QB. The other highly recruited QB has been injured most of the season
Running Back - A true freshman is the starter. Against 3 teams on the schedule, no running backs would have succeeded based on zero push from the Oline. That's a talent issue.
Wide Receivers - One combined career touchdown for the entire group prior to 2017. Outside of Trinnaman, only 15 total career catches between the group. Most were on the roster last year, yet barely played.
True freshman - Another true freshman starter. True freshman starters are an indictment of talent by the rest of the group. Only 1 catch so far by the rest of the position group (outside of Bushman)
Oline - Got dominated in 3 games thus far. A lightly recruited bunch as a whole.

He didn't really beat BSU, nor Utah as of late. Seriously doubt it, the quality of players here is very bad.
