No QB on the roster with Mangum’s experience, no TE to speak of, no stud RB and only Cody Hoffman to throw the ball to.
I would also argue that the 2002-2003 Crowton years were awfully lean on offense. Lance Pendleton was good at QB I suppose.
Trinnaman, Tanner, Simon and Shumway are as athletic a group as WRs as BYU has had in a long time. Bushman is a fantastic young TE. The OL is as good as it’s been since 2009-10. We lack a stud RB but Squally, Ula and Riley Burt aren’t short on athleticism. And there is absolutely no reason other than poor coaching and a deficient scheme for Tanner Mangum to go from Freshman of the Year to what he is now.
