Bronco's thing was never really a huge issue with starting talent. Could have been better, but it wasn't consistently a problem. The depth was always a concern, but he left starting talent. Someone above mentioned the OL having FCS transfers starting, as if Bronco didn't leave them any OL at all... But the truth is that we lost 3 projected starters. Bronco "left us" Lapuaho, Johnson, and Wilcox. Not many teams in the nation could immediately recover from losing 3 starters. Losing those guys for the year wasn't Bronco's fault. But not having depth was. So it goes both ways.

It's crazy to believe they couldn't possibly be performing better than they are. Beating LSU and Wisconsin? No, nobody is asking for that. But to be more competitive and win even one or two of this year's Utah, BSU, and USU? If that's too much to ask, we should probably quit football.

The roster isn't ideal at all, but to say a large majority of the problem is them, is a little crazy considering what has been going on. Like you said, nobody expected it to be this bad. Nobody could have projected this. Which means that goes beyond personnel. USU won 10 games in 2014 (including BYU) eventually going to their 4th string QB.

Better coaches should be able to find a way to look even a tiny bit more alive than this team is. There really aren't many excuses that get to fit, considering how many other programs find a way to get it done.

We see the excuse about leaving upperclassmen and experience... Look at USU. They're 4th in the nation in number of first year starters. They lost SOOO much. And they were already a meh MWC team. When you lose like that, it's no longer a personnel problem. Then there's Boise. Boise lost a TON. They are right up there with the lack of experience. There are articles about it. These were two of the most beatable Boise and USU teams we've seen in ages, and we got embarrassed by both.
