As to your comments, no I do not consider myself a straight line conservative, I am conservative with some strong libertarian leanings. No I do not actually favor legal limits on earnings for anyone, including lawyers, I do not support tort reform, the entire point of this was to counter the OP's attempt to paint his position as a moral position while trying portray the insurance companies as immoral. That was the issue, both are trying to do the same thing, protect their incomes and profits.

I do find personal injury and medical malpractice attorneys somewhat distasteful, and that OP is part of the reason why, but also making your living from the personal tragedy of others is kind of icky. There is no moral claim to what you do, and trying to claim it is kind of a joke to those of us that actually think.
