There are many legit lawsuits in medicine
Without knowing the details, The two examples you gave were pretty pathetic. Now if the family kept pointing out the ulcer and the physicians ignored them, then sure. Or if the elderly man had a history of falls and they jacked up his bed and left the rails down, then sure. But because his family was so nice and they could have done more...garbage time.
