Yes the price has increased because the car is bigger and they are using more premium materials including aluminum in the doors. Better materials and more materials due to it being a bigger car means it will cost more. However, they are offering the car in a 2.0T engine that you will be able to get for around the price of the last generation. Usually you have a 10K dollar difference between low and high end cadillacs on a specific model. With the CTS is will be more like 30K. You will be able to get one from 50 to 75-80 when the V finally arrives.
Cadillac knew what they were doing by producing the ATS. That will be the price leader and we have already sold ATSs to customers that used to own the CTS. So the model here is very close to BMW. Offer a price point car (3 series and ATS) and then as the customer gets ready to step up to a bigger more expensive car you have one available. (5 series and CTS).
