…and the offense sucks because while Jake makes the occasional spectacular throw between the 20’s, he struggles with the short easy throws ie the ones that keep drives going. He can’t hit a RB in the flat to save his life, can’t throw WR screens to the sideline, isn’t good throwing on the run, can’t throw short passes over the DL w/o getting the pass knocked down, etc, and he struggles with decision making under pressure (tends to lock onto receivers who are double/triple covered and misses seeing other wide open receivers, etc) and consistently throws off target.
I suppose that’s Arod’s fault but we’ll never know if things would’ve been better with a different QB1. Jake is good between the 20’s but not good inside the 20’s because that’s where teams tend to bring pressure the most. It’s not a play calling problem, it’s an execution problem and Arod isn’t the one crumbling under pressure.
