Lots of self-affirming assumptions in your critique. I’ll take on first one.
“It is well documented he is a lackluster recruiter, and his track record is very poor at regularly missing on high profile LDS kids, the ones we literally have to win on the majority of the time to make the program a contender on a national level.“

Barf.

I find these statements absurd.

We don’t know the issues. Family, academics, honor code, NIL money, parents, AND more. To hang everything on Arod and say HE is a poor recruiter is myopic at best.

On the other hand he identified Retzlaff when literally NO ONE considered him worthwhile. Whine all you want that Retzlaff didn’t single handedly carry us into the CCP and CFP, the dude was a MAJOR find.

Meanwhile who did he “miss” on? Issac Wilson? Jaxson Dart? You have NO IDEA, how these players would have navigated the season. You think either of them beats Utah and OSU in last minute drives? We’ve got good evidence in front of us that they might not have performed as well at those points, let alone the rest of the season.

Do we HAVE to have those players to win in the Big 12? Clearly no! See this year. Will recruiting improve as a result of this year? Likely yes.

What would you expect ANY recruiting effort to accomplish more that what this year brought?

Even the best recruiting effort could not have guaranteed a better outcome than 10-2 in the big 12.

Get out with “well documented”.

Baloney!

Consider that (as part of the staff) he comprehended that sufficient talent existed on this team as it was, even though they were 5-7 last year. He didn’t dump them and go to the portal. He stayed with them and got 10-2.

That looks like the result of a FANTASTIC recruiting performance to me!
