...maybe BYU doesn't play well in the cold (strangely being here in Utah) because I feel the temperature affected them vs Kansas as well.
However, Arod is simply not a firey personality... like he just doesn't have the fire to get his guys hyped up. I didn't go into depth on this, but I feel this is one of the reasons Arod is prob a good position coach, but not a leader type for an OC role that not only has to coordinate, but also motivate.
Look how flat they came out vs Ok State... worst team in the B12 and BYU was struggling to keep up with them (you can place some blame on the defense for that game as well)
But then Utah... HUGE rivalry game, going in 8-0 to your rivals stadium and they were beyond flat... zero fire. That is on Arod imo.
Same with Kansas, 9-0 going into that game knowing that a win there all but secures a spot in the conf championship game and you score just 13 points. Total let down, which again, imo, falls on Arod.
Then, first half vs ASU... again, all the conference championship scenarios on the line and totally flat... BYU scores 3 points and it takes Batty, a player, to pump his team and offense up at half time.
This is inexcusable and I just don't think Arod has it in him to motivate like a true leader would heading into these types of crucial games.
