I once worked for a successful guy that was wealthy and getting wealthier. He had a kid that was out with friends and was throwing water balloons at people from a vehicle that was going 45 mph+. He hit someone and they were damaged enough to press charges. He was charged with misdemeanor assault.
This rich dad was upset that this kid's record would be ruined by the charge. He would say "So my kid can't ever run for Congress because he threw a water balloon?". With his resources he eventually got the charges dismissed.
They would tell this story over and over — laughing at how ridicluous and unfair it was to be charged with an assault.... with a water balloon. They laughed it off. The kid was and probably still is an arrogant jerk.
They (the entire family from rich dad on down) learned nothing from the incident. Nothing.
