If you knock someone out by throwing something out of anger directed at them… I’m ok with some jail time and some community service and something on a criminal record and at least a temporary ban from the stadium.

He needs consequences. It’s dangerous to him and everyone if he doesn’t. You can’t encourage other people to feel license to do the same thing he did. Hopefully everyone including BYU fans think twice before they throw anything ever again from a stadium seat. I’m definitely going to share what happens to this kid with my kids so they know it’s never worth it to lose your cool at a sporting event… and this is what can happen.

But do I feel compassion and mercy for the kid… I do. Once he’s faced his punishment I hope he recovers and moves on and doesn’t get any more pain than what he deserves. I can see how easily a mistake like this can be made.

I also hope the real victim is ok.
