I walked on to the BYU Baseball team, ended up playing a lot on the JV team that year.
But the point here is that the JV Baseball players had lockers in the Smith Fieldhouse locker room where, at that time, all of the main sports teams had their lockers. We were put in a back corner with small lockers but the bonus was that we were right next to where they put the Alumni athletes that were training at BYU during their off-season.
This meant that we had lockers right next to Steve Young, Mark Bellini and others that were throwing with each other. One of the guys was Sean Salisbury. I was familiar with Sean's story and found it interesting that he was spending time at BYU rather than USC or in southern California in general. I assumed at the time that he was wife hunting, a la Dale Murphy, but don't know that for a fact.
Fun times! Steve Young told us some great stories about being stalked while playing for the Buccaneers:)
