why did they have two more BCS bowls than BYU, the highest win % during the MW era, the best non-BCS record vs. BCS schools?
IN fact, no other school in non BCS had BCS bowl and a Final Four win. Or two #1 draft picks in the first year.
Utah had the better trajectory and the higher ceiling.
BYU was great in the WAC but what they do that was on the national level in the MWC era?
Flash in the pan was more likely BYU in the Lavell era. Once he retired, BYU hasn't been that great. A couple good years here and there...but if you rail on Utah's 2019, 2021 and 2022 seasons, I'm not sure what BYU has done that's markedly superior.
