I am the first to concede Utah excellence on the field has been much better
Than BYUs for a long time. If I grew up in Utah I would have probably been a Utah fan and gone there for school.
Utah does not have to deal with honor code and has had way more money and better facilities. It has a legacy BYU coach who has built a sustainable program and has a Polynesian pipeline and can out recruit BYU for anyone. That has translated into football success.
But yes we have had some fun road trips in independence.
