Apple admitted that they slowed down older phones, ostensibly to preserve battery life, but you would have to be a freaking moron to not realize that they were incentivized to push people to buy new phones by making the phones slow down. And whatever their actual motivation, they deliberately made their phones operate slower as they get older.
