yeah but sports don’t work like that. and the ones that do become almost non existent shortly after. and as a consumer
i want my sports to last. i don’t care if college foootball becomes more popular for 10 years and then after that there’s nothing left. no good shows. no fans. just football, good football, but not even the best football. that’s what the nfl is for.

NASCAR did this just 20 years ago. their core fan base was not their biggest demographic, so they pandered to their biggest demographic. they became the 2nd biggest sport in the country. but they lost their most IMPORTANT demographic. so when the trend died, NASCAR had no fans left. nobody attending races. no good talk shows left. it was almost dead.

if gameday leaves out the guy that relates to their most important demographic, before long there won’t be any demographics left. which would be a real shame to the entire sport.
