It's not wrong to wish the worst on organizations, and I fully wish the worst on the PAC and the Ewe.
Are we supposed to wish well on Isis, Al Queda, the mob etc as organizations? No. And although we're not saying the Ewe is Isis, this illustrates the point that we can wish the worst on organizations such as the filthy, lying, underhanded, little-man diseased scourge that is the University of Utah (athletics program and parts of the university and its culture).
If you're in business, do you give some of your market share to your competitor hoping they'll survive for "rivalry's sake?" Nope, you strike while the iron is hot and you take what they had. The market has spoken.
Plus, unlike the gospel, this is a fixed pie. We will have to sacrifice from our own revenue and recruits to help them through "this difficult time." Meh. Put a boot on its neck.
If we want to talk about the mission of the university, it's not to bolster other universities and conferences. If we look at the mission of the church, was it to help out the Pharisees or do you think the Founder of it wished that organization abolished? Said Founder put new wine in new bottles for a reason, if you catch the parable.
