I get it, you're depth chart guy and you like big lists that either show negatives or positives on paper. You don't have anything to base your assumptions on other than what you see on paper. A school name next to a player. A star next to a player. Whatever it is.

Want to know what didn't look good on paper? Utah's top D a few years ago where half of their starters combined for only a handful of decent offers. Not to mention the number of recent draft picks or guys who were great at Utah who were nobodies before.

Want to know what didn't look good on paper? Utah State's draft picks over the last 7 years, as recruits. Pretty sure every single USU draft pick, all ELEVEN of them, only had USU as their FBS offer. If that's not accurate, it wasn't much better. It's true for the most part at least.

Tip: Don't be so consumed with stuff on paper that you can't materialize or qualify.

1. Good coaches find a way to do more with less. There are plenty of coaches who get it done with much less than BYU can get.
2. Meh coaches have loads of talent yet to less with more. Having talent doesn't guarantee you anything.
