So what are these "industry norms"? Let's see, something like a sensor mat gets invented and that makes it an "industry norm"? It's mere existence means that all care facilities must have them or else here come the lawyers?
Your little dig by the way was imbecilic, there is no need for me, or anyone, to "know how complicated areas of law work" to know when something is a money grab by a shyster. Maybe I'll go out and invent some sort of other sensor and then get some lawyer to get it called an "industry norm" so that everyone who doesn't immediately spend a bunch of money installing it is open to a lawsuit by another lawyer looking to cash in.
The fact is right and wrong are not the concern of the shyster, the shysters only concern is if he thinks he can make a case out of something, if there is some money to be mined the shysters will justify trying to mine it by claiming "he's got a case" as if that automatically eliminates all concept of right and wrong and instead puts it into the lawyers "legal" or "provable" or whatever lies the shyster tells himself to justify it. It's frankly disgusting.
And don't assume I'm not versed in these things, you don't know my background.
