Intervention Needed
Physiology experts: what are the benefits and detriments
Of two workouts per day for someone a tad over fifty? Okay maybe more than a tad.
Assume workout one involves an hour of cardio plus weights and workout two includes 90 minutes of the same.

You might run into overuse injuries if this is going from 0 to 100

I think recovery will be a huge obstacle. 2x daily allows no time to recover

Risky. Weights I would think should be looked at with the weekly plan. Muscles groups need recovery.

It seems like your are wasting time in your workouts and not being efficient to get the improvement you seek.

If you ease your way into it, your body will accommodate to a lot of things.

Depends on intensity of workouts imo. I’m a fan of low intensity, high volume

Just curious, when you say “an hour of cardio plus weights,” do you mean you do an hour of cardio, then lift after?

Cardio should come after lifting. Otherwise, if that works for you, then stick with it. Sounds very invigorating.

Why should it come after? I like the fatigue before I start lifting.

You need recovery time for maximum benefit. Let your body be the guide.

I do two workouts a day but it’s 45 min weights in the morning and 30-45min cardio in evening. Weights for strength
