I know the day will come when BYU does finally build a new stadium.
Yes, it will be exciting. Yes, it will generate more revenue through corporate sponsorship. Yes, it will probably help recruiting.
But it will come with a hefty price.
I'm sad that die-hard fans will be further pushed to the nosebleed endzone seats, and that many families will be priced out altogether.
I hate the idea of attending "A" game every now and then, as a luxury experience, because I can't afford season tickets.
I don't look forward to MORE empty corporate seats throughout quarters 1 and 3.
I get it... we will eventually NEED to do this in order to stay relevant and competitive.
But as somebody who travels a lot for work and has attended sporting events at many of the great pro stadiums throughout the country, I have to say that those venues are not my vibe. I much prefer the LES experience; sitting among "the people" who are there to watch a football game and yell for OUR team.
Would I prefer more leg room? Of course. But I'd rather deal with that nuisance than be forced to forfeit my seats because I can no longer afford to go.
