My thoughts on your points
1. could increase $$$ over what I listed
2. the SI article lists that most conferences don't do it that way - but others have sided with your recollection - either way that is not helpful to BYU's pocket book
3. nice find on the 2004 details, I wasn't aware of that - and because of new methods it won't happen that way again - although BCS payouts across the board are supposed to go up under new ESPN contract (but all bowls likely will increase as well with inflation, etc)
4. so using the numbers in your link above + the numbers for 2009 in my post [9.8] (the $14M of 2004 not included) the MWC averaged $5.6 M each year from the BCS - divide that by 10 = $560 K.
560 + 420 = $980K per year - I still think these are supportive of the argument.
