good research, a few counter points

1. I think BYU will get offered more than 100k by the BCS. If BYU doesn't agree to the 100k and makes the BCS, which is a higher possibility than army or Navy, wouldn't they make out like bandits? The BCS is going to want to reduce risk with BYU and will toss more crumbs at them. They may increase pay outs to the academies as well. This will be decided next spring.

2. I dont know for sure, but with the BCS bowls I remember Utah getting to take travel expenses out of BCS money before the rest was distributed.

3. Last year was a banner year, but 2004 was better because the BCS had yet to mitigate for non-AQ risk. Check out these payouts:

4. Average BCS payout for the MWC for the past 5 years was around 5 million. That will soon be divided by 10-12. BYU will make a little more than the MWC average of the past 5 years right out of the gates in indy. Also BCS payout is based on bowls and other teams finishing high in the rankings. Correct me if I'm wrong but some of the BCS dispersal was based on three teams being in the top 25 last year? I can't see the MWC having two teams ranked most seasons.
