Have you considered talk therapy? Here me out…
Ever since we met, my wife would have crippling migraines at least once a week. The kind that leave you curled up in a ball, in a dark room, taking excedrine, and trying to sleep it off. She started having them as a kid and nothing helped. Her family took her to loads of Drs and was basically told she would have them the rest of her life and that she would have to find a way to cope with them.

My wife was also sexually abused as a child, repeatedly by a close family member. She almost never talked about it with anyone her entire life. Fast forward a few years into our marriage and crazy stuff was going down in her family so she started meeting with a therapist every week. It took her a while to open up with her therapist but eventually she was able to talk through her sexual abuse with a trained therapist and it has changed her life.

To be honest, it took a couple years, but she went from being crippled by migraines every week, to now she maybe has one per year. It’s totally anecdotal, but I think that bad migraines are a symptoms of a lifetime of conscious or subconscious suppression of stress caused by abuse/trauma from earlier in life.

I have no idea what your life has been like, but if your migraines are terrible, and you’ve tried everything to no avail, I think taking some time to talk with a trained professional about the things that have been difficult in your life may be helpful.

I’ve seen how debilitating migraines can be, so I truly wish you the best of luck in finding something that helps!
