You wrote, "I did not ask anyone to provide me legal counsel free of charge." Yet, you are asking for a referral to an attorney who you can speak with in an effort to get legal advice on your non-compete and analyze the strength of your case. But, you don't want to pay for that. You literally are asking for someone "to provide [you] legal counsel free of charge." If you go into your doctor to check your sore throat to see if it is strep or a virus, do you expect him take time away from other patients so he can diagnosis your problem for free? If you go to your mechanic for a misfiring vehicle, do you ask your mechanic to stop working on other vehicles so he can diagnosis that problem for free?
With that being said (no, I'm not entering the transfer portal), here is some free advice: Don't ask for people to refer you to a professional for services (in the case of an attorney, advice about/analysis of your case), and in the same message show that you don't value those services by not being willing to pay for them. I'm not going to refer you to a colleague so that you can just not value their time. Because, again, reviewing your non-compete, gathering the facts of you situation, analyzing your case, giving advice, etc. is going to take more than the "5 minutes" you anticipate.
