You don't want to pay for an attorney, but want to get legal advice on the enforceability of a non-compete clause. I would HIGHLY doubt you can get to a conclusion about that in a five minute phone call.

Sounds like you can't do this stuff by yourself, but don't want to pay others for their product (i.e., knowledge, expertise).
