I had two things on my todo list for today that I thought the normally friendly and helpful folks on CB might have some great recommendations — better than just google — the type of post that is commonplace on the forum. I myself have spent many, many hours helping other folks on CB, freely giving of my expertise, advice, recommendations, and resources towards their inquiries (publicly and privately). I've never sent anyone a BM with an invoice attached.

I merely asked if anyone knew of a source/site that showed values of recent sales data — which many sites offer partially, so it would stand to reason there may be one out there of which I was not yet aware — I did not ask for anyone to provide me a service or a valuation on my property free of charge.

I asked for a recommendation for an attorney, for a given area of emphasis, that offers prospective client consults — which are common practice in law and most other professional services. I did not ask anyone to provide me legal counsel free of charge.

I did not ask for any service to be provided to me without pay, and I don't understand why you're so determined to make it seem that I did and paint me as some kind of freeloader, which I am not, because you think the only solution to my inquiries involves purchasing a service I don't actually need.


A CB subscription is irrelevant to the conversation. I pay for many services that provide value that I'm seeking. If I desired any of the benefits of a premium CB subscription, I'd gladly pay for it, as I do for several other things.

Do you watch Youtube videos? Are you a Youtube premium subscriber? Do you check the value of your home on Zillow or do you pay a realtor for an appraisal every time you're curious about it? Probably not, I'd wager. Yet it would be silly of us to call you a freeloader, to look down our noses at you on an internet forum, and make unfounded assertions about your character as a result.
