My flaming hot take is that college sports fans should cheer for the college where they went to school
and i think for the most part, that makes them better fans. There is a “we” component in college sports that doesn’t exist in professional sports. No, you aren’t on the team. But there is a communal “we” as an alumni base rooting for the institution where you spent so many years. BYU grads are part of BYU.

Are there exceptions? Maybe. What do you do when you went to multiple schools? idk. Workshopping the take.


Hearing a Duke fan behind me last night scream about “we are coming for ring #6” and then hearing that he went to Rutgers…uh huh. There is no we. You jumped aboard a movement that you aren’t part of.
