I agree & said exactly what you did 3 wks ago & got killed on CB for it. Loads
of sound reasons for 19 yr old Egor to return. I made the same if he were my son argument as well.

An extra few million one year earlier won't amount to a hill of beans when he's retired at 40. If he stays a BYU next season, he will still be in the top 1% of US (let alone Russian), wage earners as a 19 yr old. Plus he gets to play in front of sold out B12 arenas instead of empty G League venues or worse sitting at the end of an NBA bench (Egor ain't getting much PT in the League with his mediocre shooting and lack of strength and other developments needs) From all accounts (T Hanson to Egor himself), the kid loves BYU and college life. Plus he'll see his girlfriend much more often in Provo, which means more to a teenager than to us married old men.

Plus Demin clearly respects KY and should realize KY can develop him as well as most NBA coaches if he stays in Provo.

The risk of injury playing one extra year at BYU is mitigated in part by his high NIL money next season. A career-ending injury can happen at least as easily during the much longer NBA season. It's a risk all athletes assume and one you insure against.

I would bet Egor leaves, but he at least has pros and cons to consider.
