It was often in the 70s. For example in the 1998-99 playoffs the Spurs held their opponents
to 79 points or below 8 times (out of 17 games) including 3 in the Finals. Only one team out of the 4 they played managed to put up 90 points against them. They held two opponents in the sixties.

That seems pretty often to me. Literally the best teams in the game scoring in the 70s or below 8/17 times.

Did you know that in the NBA Finals the Jazz averaged just 80.16 points per game for the entire series? Crazy!!!
