Teams DO get better as the year progresses, and now the tourney numbers suggest there were too many sec teams, and not enough from other conferences.
BIGS (B10, B12, ?BE) looking good so far. SEC, not so much - W-L by conference
tells a story, even though most of the SEC teams who won, got gifted with cupcakes.
Win / Loss after 32 games + 4
B10 = 8-0 (pretty good, but squeaked some out, and will take on the chin in round 2, IMO)
B12 = 6-1 (shoulda had more teams in tourney, now need to prove it round 2)
SEC = 8-6 (booo, over-rated!)
BE = 3-2
ACC = 1-3 (2-3 if you count UNC's first win)
MW = 2-2 (but the USU and SDSU losses were ugly)
WCC = 2-0 (also 2-0 in the NIT - always gets too few teams in the tourney, and the pairings for GU and St Mary's round 2 are criminal!)
All other conferences = 2-18 (not too many upsets this year so far)
