The Big 12 got 7 teams in, went 6-1. The SEC got 14 teams in, went 8-6. But let’s take a look at what their record had been if they got 7 in… checks notes… oh, 7-0.
Missouri and Texas losses were embarrassing, but the #9 SEC team lost to the #7 Big 12 team and the #14 SEC team lost to the two time defending champions, both one possession games in the finals minutes, and that’s an indication that the SEC is overrated?
Be honest with yourself… how would the following teams have faired in the tournament: Ok St., UCF, Utah, Cincinnati, et al.? You think if they were placed in the 8-11 seed lines even one comes out with a win? Doubt it.
