Coaches "task," "assign," "promise" (what have ya) roles to players ALL the time
that in the course of he season they HAVE TO RENEGE ON FOR THE SAKE OF WINNING GAMES.

You need go no further with this than Kanon Catchings & this very season. You really think he started for as long as he did (playing the minutes he played) because there WASN'T a recruiting "promise" in place? A "promise" that was abruptly dropped a couple months ago?
