I graduated from the MBA program at Wharton and it was amazing. I help a lot of veterans who are trying to get into MBA programs and do a lot with different admissions committees to advocate for vets.
Oregon and Oregon State have objectively pretty poor MBA programs ranking in the bottom quartile of schools, and the opportunities you’ll have from there will be much different than top schools on the W Coast: UCLA Anderson, USC Marshall, UW Foster, Berkeley Haas. Even BYU’s program is a significantly better and cheaper option than either of the ones you mentioned.
Oregon’s MBA published career outcomes are strikingly lower than the schools I mentioned above Oregon State doesn’t even seem to publish their employment reports. I would consider this a major red flag.
If your company will foot the bill and you just need it for internal promotion then I would say go for it. If you’re looking to pay for it yourself I’d be extremely selective and ensure you are checking employment reports and alumni outcomes. Run a DCF and determine if the investment is worth any potential increase in wages.
I would advise against those programs if you are paying for it yourself.
