size 5 floating rapala. or CD
The CD (Count Down) will sink about 1 foot per second when it hits the water. But it has a retrieval depth of about 2ft.
On small streams with a floating rapala I have had fish take it as it is floating like they would a fly.

Those Madison River trout have seen every fly imaginable. Makes sense they’d go after a rapala.
