I think I went to a game in the early 1980s but don’t remember which one (maybe Air Force that we lost because of the late hit on QB).

Anyway I was hiking with my dad & brother somewhere (in the Uintas I think) and we were listening to the game on the radio. When BYU pulled it out it was a pretty big upset at the time. Pitt even though they went on to have a lousy year was ranked 3rd to start the season and had been a bit of a national power team for a few years (I believe they won the 1979 NC). Anyway we carved the score into an Aspen tree somewhere. Since that season, I’ve pretty much been an addict.
