You want a 'end grain' cutting board..
End-grain cutting boards are better for your knives.
Your best option is:
1) find a friend who likes woodworking and have him make you one 🙂
2) search Amazon or Wayfair for 'end grain cutting boards'. If you want a nicer one search Etsy.
A decent-sized 24x18x1.5" factory-made end grain board should be under $100.

Is the large one big enough? Seems like it might be a bit too small.

Hardwood. Love my teak Shumaru cutting board. Very solid and good on knives.

More expensive, I know, but think of it as a beautiful piece of art.

I think for a big board that lasts, they are generally pretty pricey.

The 24x16 bbq board is only $140 - that's a pretty good size and lasts forever

I bought a large piece of butcher block and cut it down into several boards.

Boos is the big name in that space. I have one from Catskill that's great. Go end grain wood for sure if you can.
