I like this move. Nissan has some solid models that should be preserved.

Nissan has some very cool history and it’s sad to see how far their brand equity

The only Nissan's I'd consider right now are the Z, GT-R, and Frontier.

I feel the same way about Honda. Loved our '84 Accord, it went 360k+ miles and we gave it away running, and by the end

I agree with much of what you are saying here but I don't think you are giving the Z its due.

Of course I reread your message and realized I glossed over that you were referring to Honda, not Honda/Nissan combined.

Hahah, yup. Nissan's problems are engine and cooling (strawberry milkshake of death), a reputational death knell that

Frontier hasn't had the milkshake problem in 10 years, but it still has the bad rep for it.

I'm sure that's what they'll do - merge and adopt all of Nissan's bad things...

Honda's trajectory has been in the wrong direction for a decade. They are living off of their 80s/90s reputation, right

I’ve owned one Nissan. 2002 Nissan Maxima. It was fast but tons of problems.

Really? I had a 2000 Maxima and I had to replace the ignition coils is all.

Agree. But I trust the JD Power lists more than I do Consumer Reports. Neither are very great though, the best is

I’ve been reading a lot about Nissan lately as we might buy one - from what I can tell they’ve been sort of unfairly

Agree, I’ll never get one. Seems that transmissions are far more likely to cause issues in any vehicle than an engine

My dad was over the vehicles in his mission and the worst vehicle was the Nissan Rogue, they had multiple that had to go

I’m surprised at how much cheaper Frontiers start compared to the other midsize options. That or Ridgeline would be my
