As you were the one who delayed implementing the patch, you should definitely be working as well:
You messed up on not implementing earlier, it’s your turn to lead and be working to implement the patch.l with them.
A good leader doesn’t just get better pay for their employees. They lead them and teach them. Sounds like you need to teach them about pulling their weight occasionally.
